A new hotel designed to fit in a historic district.
Team design with Janae Nardi
Created with Revit and Photoshop
This project began as an open-ended prompt to create a design for hotel. After some discussion, my partner and I settled on situating the hotel in Galena, Illinois, a town we had both visited. Galena is known for it's history as a mining town. Today tourists shop in the downtown district and enjoy the architecture of the past. The namesake of the hotel is drawn from records of a woman named Miss Adney, the first woman to live in town and visit the mines. Although not much information can be found about Miss Adney, the hotel strives to provide friendly hospitality to guests in an environment that reflects the town's history.
